Good day all, my name is Haider Hassan and I have been a presenter on Radio XL since 2008. You can hear me every Tuesday on the Discussion Show between 11am and 1pm. Although I love music and presented late night music shows on Radio XL previously , I also enjoy connecting with our listeners and bring some interesting topics for discussion and debate. I feel the station is a very important platform whereby we can serve the community, create awareness about current issues and so help each other. I would describe myself as an easy-going, friendly guy and I have made many good friends amongst the presenting team at XL. I would also describe myself as a FOODIE - I'm happy to try dishes from all cultures Pakistani to Chinese, Turkish to Mexican. I

Celebrating a massive 38-year legacy in music and almost 3 decades with Radio XL, I am veteran presenter Johno Irie, bringing you musical entertainment across the airwaves. Broadcasting in English, I host two weekend shows packed with non-stop music, live mixes, and listener shoutouts: "Friday Night Throwback" on Friday nights from 10pm to Midnight featuring iconic ’80s, ’90s, and ’00s anthems, and "Desi Dance Beats" on Saturdays from 7pm to 9pm with a high-octane fusion of Punjabi, Bollywood, disco and dance tunes from all genres. What makes my shows unique ? Well... it is the live-on-the-fly mixing and lifelong vinyl roots , supercharged for dance floor party lovers. Music has been my life-long passion through which there is a power to unite diverse communities. A surprising fun fact is that I'm still hunting down rare vinyl, with a massive collection to show for it. My absolute favourite XL memory is hosting the Lord Mayor’s Show in front of a massive live crowd!

I’m Kabir Ahmed, the voice of the Bengali Show - Shurmar Dheu on Radio XL, every Tuesday and Wednesday, 9–10pm. There’s a special kind of electricity when I’m behind a microphone. Radio is where my personality, voice and energy come alive. I love connecting with listeners, sharing stories, creating moods and bringing great Asian music to life. Having grown up with Bollywood and cultural music, it’s always been in my blood. Speaking Bengali, Urdu and Hindi, alongside English, helps me connect with different communities and bring people together through music. I joined Radio XL in 2024 and each week I look forward to bringing musical entertainment to the Bengali show and all the shows I cover. Away from radio, I’m an insurance professional and NHS Responder. I enjoy travelling, keeping fit, football, cricket and family time, while staying actively involved in my community.
